Matty Dreger '24 Recruiting Profile

Hey, my name is Matthew Dreger, I am a Senior at St. Croix Falls high school. I have been playing soccer since I was a baby. I was originally from Guatemala City, Guatemala. But I got adopted from a family in Wisconsin. I have gone to plenty of goalkeeper camps around the country. And I play for Minnesota United U19 academy and have learned tons of new drills and learned how to be a successful goalkeeper. I have learned from the best of the best from David De Gea to my fellow United players. And I have been Goalkeeper of the year for conference. And 1st team all-conference and captain.

People would describe be as a funny, sweet, caring, loving person. Someone to look up to and be a role model to the younger clubs and kids. And show that being a team player helps your team achieve greatness.  I am very energetic, fast, strong, and very loud. To me communication is key to a good team. Letting your mid fielders and defenders and strikers to move up press and tell them that they are doing an overall good job. And not a negative way. I am as tough as nails towards coming to the ball. I don't care if a cleat goes right in my face. I am willing to do the work and willing to do anything to help the team. And my size doesn't stop me from making saves and getting hit hard or hurt. I hope I find a home and show that we can win.

The type of goalkeeper that my coaches describe me as a sweeper keeper. I come out for the ball and show my toughness in me. I have good ball control, good hands, and Iq. I love to pass the ball I have good accuracy. I can side volley kick but I'm still progressing. 

The fall of 2023 I will be going overseas to train with Derby county in the United Kingdom. I will be waiting a year to go to college. But I still plan on going to college and play soccer.
