John Higginbotham '23 Recruiting Profile

Currently, I am a junior in high school and swim competitively with Auburn Aquatics in Auburn, Alabama. I would like to swim collegiately and can contribute to the success of your swim team. I am a team player and encourage my teammates daily at practice. I have a strong work ethic, which is vital to any successful swim program. My best events are the 200 free, 500 free and 1650 free. I also enjoy swimming butterfly and backstroke. However, I am dedicated to become an amazing swimmer to race and compete for myself and more importantly, my team.

I have worked hard in the past, and I will continue to work hard during the present and future. I am going to continue to push myself physically and mentally to become the best swimmer I can possibly become. This means that wherever I go to continue my academic and athletic careers, I will continue to be an absolute work horse. I will not only race for myself, but for my school, coaches, and teammates. In result, I will destroy the sets in the pool, the workouts in weight rooms, and coursework in our classrooms. In addition to this, I will encourage and push my teammates to become the best versions of themselves. Therefore, my teammates and I will make the conference and national teams to compete for the betterment and confidence of my swim family. 

In addition to making a splash in the pool, school is equally important. During high school, I have maintained all A’s in my course of study. In the 2023 student class, I am ranked 40 out of 693 students with a 4.15 GPA. I am involved with Student Council, Future Health Professionals of America (HOSA) and Auburn High School Ambassadors.
