Personal Statement
I have put a great emphasis on my academics throughout my High School career while consistently improving in swimming each year. I am a type of person who gets excited to start the new school year because I just enjoy learning and studying. I work hard in the class room AND work just as hard in the pool. I am very coachable and believe that my full potential has not been reached and will not be reached until my college years. My current coach has been great at keeping me injury free and far away from any "burn out". I only swim 2 doubles per week and have not yet lifted weights. We do 2-3 times a week dry land that consists of medicine balls, core work, squats, and band work. I think I can help increase a college team's average GPA and add value in the water. My parents and my Christian values have taught me to always encourage others and to lead by example. Side note... I have just started training more IM and decided to swim 200 IM at the AZ High School State Meet - placed 3rd with 1:56.10. Also went 49.01 in 100 free this fall and 54.44 in 100 fly (unrested). I have not swum the 500 free since spring of 2016, but will be adding that back in to the mix for the winter/spring.
