Hello, my name is Kyle Anderson and I am currently a junior attending Cactus Shadows High School in Cave Creek, Arizona. I am passionate about continuing my swimming and academic career at the collegiate level. I have been swimming competitively for only three years and have already made significant strides in improving my stroke technique and my times. At the Arizona High School State Championship meet in November 2017, I qualified for finals (top 16) in the 100 yard freestyle with a time of 50.78. I swim the 50 freestyle, as well, with a time of 22.89. I plan to improve on these times immensely, I swim with the Anthem Dolphins swim team where I also lift weights after practice. Academically, I am enrolled in the International Baccalaureate program at Cactus Shadows, which is one of the most rigorous academic programs available in high school. I have a weighted 4.81 GPA and a 3.97 unweighted GPA. In addition, I scored a 1390 on PSAT and I scored a 1410 on the SAT this past spring. I am co-president of Science Club, an active member of Math Club, and the historian of National Honors Society. In college, I plan to study biology or business and perhaps study abroad. I am employed as a lifeguard at the Desert Foothills Family YMCA where I am involved in the Teen Leadership Club (a volunteer group), as well. I plan to contribute to my college swim team where I put the team in the best place to win as well as be serious with my academic coursework.
