When I decided to swim year round after my first varsity swim season at BHS I realized that water polo was secondary. I learned that I have potential at sprinting and became the most improved swimmer of that year in the varsity team - joining the team in the NCS finals. My favorite event is the 100 yard freestyle. Right now my fastest time officially on record is only around 51 seconds. My current goal is to beat my BHS school record of 47.5 seconds. Backstroke was my favorite until then and I am working on improving technique and style.
Working on improving technique, style, speed is a theme that spans accross all my interests. I play in a funk jazz ensemble as lead alto saxophone player [after 3 years as lead alto sax player in BHS's jazz lab 2]. I love being part of a large team with the opportunity to solo on occasion. I learned to improvise while following a common theme, perform under high pressure and be myself.
My interest in pursuing a career in traditional business or engineering with entrepreneurial touch picks up on this theme. I know I can strive in team environments and will excel when given the opportunity to perform solo.
As eagle scout I had a chance to lead and show my commitment to serve the community at large - a theme that is at the core of my heart.
