Nicholas Avellaneda '18 Recruiting Profile

I want to get into a college which will support both my swimming and my academic goals. What qualifies me as a good candidate is my motivation and passion for swimming. Although I have been diagnosed with allergy induced asthma, it does not stop me from maintaining a proper work out for both my teammates and I during a practice. I differentiate myself from other candidates by being very supportive and encouraging teammates to work as hard as possible. My motto is, "Aim for the moon and land on a star"; if I always aim high, I will reach higher than i would have expected rather than reaching for something easily attainable. Analogous to my swimming habits, I would consider myself a qualified scholar due to my ability to maintain above a 4.0 gpa(weighted) this past junior year. I am one of the leaders in club and am very highly respected because of my ability to inspire and lead others, including myself, towards a path eventually leading to success.
