Personal Statement

I want to succeed in my life through this program and get a athletic scholarship. In doing so, I will achieve my academic goals supported by the athletic scholarship. My strengths are in short and long distance freestyle events, my back stroke is proficient, and I am quite fast in the butterfly events. (at present future and NCSA junior National cuts) I work everyday when I go to swim practice, making every practice count. Along with achieving past goals and creating new ones, I always try to make practice not only enjoyable to me but to everyone as well.

I am the elder boy of the family, competing and training with my younger brother who is current 9 NAG record holder for his age group. My father, during his younger years, held national times and began swimming at the age of 7. I also started competitively swimming at the age of 5 and from then on, I had been obtaining new heights in my life. Along with my swimming career, I yearn to become a dentist.

I'm a very hardworking, energetic person that gives everything I do a 120% maximum, not just 100%. In athletics and academics, I'm a silent leader but that doesn't particularly stop from speaking the truth when I have to and I help everyone get back on track when they are starting to derail. Regarding my peers, my team mates, and classmates, I will stop at nothing to do the same. I want to help them succeed no matter the cost. After all, it all starts with 1 and if I can be the one that starts the domino effect towards success, I will destroy any walls that form in my way.

That's the kind of person I am. I'm head-strong, confident, brave, kind, cooperative, and resourceful and that's the person I want others to see. Together, we can tear the pool. Together, we can break the limits. Together, we can create legends. Together, we can take that first step and strive towards success.
