Matthieu 100 free...Personal Statement
I love swimming and competing. I'd love to continue my passion at an university if I can be given a chance.
I'm a goal-driven, persistent and hard working student athlete.
I've been swimming since 4th grade. I was the 1st in my group to go PC Jr Olympic at age of 10 and got FW right before I aged up. When I was working hard to improve my times, I got injured and the doctor asked me to stop all exerices. I could not swim and I could not even walk fast for a few months. I gained a lot of weight and became unhealthy as a result. As soon as I was given the clearance to swim, I could not wait to get into the water and start practicing. On my first year back to the pool, I had a hard time keeping up and I was far from my personal bests. I never gave up and I pushed my body and worked hard.
Fast fowarding, I dropped over 10 seconds in my 100 free over a period of 1 year and lost over 30 pounds. I am now in 11th grade and have continued to improve.
I'd love to keep improving and demonstrating my determination at an university.
