I started my swimming journey when I was 6 years old. I'm from a small town in Mexico where I started my first swimming lessons. I rapidly started climbing up the ladder to compete at nationals. My hard work and tenacity paid off since I was able to qualify for my first national at only ten years old. As life unfolded, I continue to strive for excellence. My passion for swimming made me hold a national fly record. Swimming as with any sport comes with a high cost, in Mexico, there are not many schools with competitive swimming programs. However, there was one private school (Novaera) with a swimming team. After they saw my potential they offered me a full ride from age ten all the way to high school. Novaera gave the bases and the training to aspire for more. My swimming career came with a lot of new opportunities such as traveling internationally, representing my country on several meets, and the last but most important was obtaining a full ride to one of the best swimming programs in the States, attending The Bolles Boarding school in Jacksonville, Florida. Thanks to those great generous people who believed in me and offer a life change opportunity selflessly
I have been in the states for only a few months and although it was hard to adapt to a new country, I was able to reach all American times on my most recent meets. I have always dreamt of studying at a world-class university and to fulfill my passion: Swimming at the highest levels. Coming to the States was not an easy decision, I come from a very humble place, and all I have I have worked really hard for it. My parents and the people who believed in me are my biggest fans and have made every effort and sacrifice for me to be where I am right now. I want to make them proud and show them that their sacrifices were all worth it. I want to attend college and be able to take all my athletic potential to the next level. I have the blessing to be part of a great team and build a career in a school that understands and supports elite athletes in all aspects of life. I want to contribute to the University and my community by sharing all my life experiences and paving the way for the upcoming resilient athletes that come from a similar background as me. giving back something of what I received, I want to make my country, my parents, all those who generously trusted in me, and myself proud of all that we have accomplished.
