Personal Statement
In the fall of 2023, my goal is to be studying at a highly selective school with a strong computer science program because academics is the primary factor in my college decision. Throughout my high school career, I have challenged myself with the most rigorous course load available and participate in a multitude of extracurricular activities.
Additionally, I hope to attend a school that will provide me the opportunity to continue my passion for competitive swimming.
The moment I began swimming at 8 years old, I immediately fell in love with the sport. Since then, I have learned motivation, discipline, and determination are essential not only to swimming, but in life. What I love about swimming is that the only thing I can blame for losing is myself, so there are no excuses and a lot more pressure. This and my competitive nature help motivate me to work harder towards my goals. I always look for more challenges to motivate myself and improve my performance in the water.
Not only do I compete for myself, but I am confident that I can be a great asset to a college swimming community because of my cheerful attitude and my ability to help push my teammates to reach their full potential. Whether I am at a long meet or a morning practice, I always find myself encouraging teammates to give their maximum effort at all times. My positive attitude and my ability to encourage others will benefit my future teammates and team as a whole.
