Following my sophmore year of swimming, I am excited to start the swim season as an upperclassman. The current pandemic has really put into perspective my love for the sport and how hard I need to work in order to be the best I can be. I have learned the value of a good work-ethic both in the pool and in my studies. I have learned that importance of dedicating my time to the sport of swim to compete at a collegiate level. One of the traits that I believe would make me a good candidate for a college team would be my ability to adapt to different situations. When faced with a new challenge I can find a way to get through and work with this new obstacle. While in the off-season for high school swimming I improve my skills to collegiate level by participating in swim clinics, university swim camps, and competing on a club team. I am fortunate enough to be a part of the Greater Evansville Aquatic Team which has taught me about teamwork and good sportsmanship.
While not in the water it is a priority to maintain good academic habits and grades. Achieving a higher GPA and enrolling in challenging classes has always been important to me. As I look forward to the upcoming junior year, already have my swim goals set, classes scheduled, and a plan to improve my ability outside the water through strength training. Another priority of mine is expanding my faith. I do this by participating in Youth leadership events and classes. I enjoy volunteering during my free time. Just recently I helped with the SWIRCA games which engage youth, the elderly, and those in nursing homes in fun activities. With all of this in mind, I believe that I have the skills and mindset to have a positive influence on your team!
