During freshman year, I decided to swim. It was a new experience, I had been a part of sports my whole life, but none of it would have prepared me for the upcoming seasons. I instantly made waves on my team. I had worked hard, and I had enjoyed it. My high school team and teammates had given me some of the best memories ever, and really kept my love for the sport going. Near the end of sophomore year, I realized I had a chance to make state, so I started working harder than ever, I pushed myself more than I had all year, but I fell short. I became more motivated than ever after this, even without swimming for a club, I did everything I could in the offseason. I was in the weight room a ton and gained tremendous strength. The following season, I managed to drop 10 seconds in the 100 fly, and became the first boy since 2010 at my school to win conference, win sectionals, break a school record, and qualify for state. Fly was an event I had little experience and training in, yet through pure determination and perseverance, I made it work.
I am looking for a school that will push me athletically, a team that rallies around each other, and a school that will academically set me up for success. I bring a strong culture and leadership to any environment, and I want to compete at the highest stage, no matter where I'm at.
