William Mackay '26 Recruiting Profile

I am keen to attend a Division I or II swimming college and obtain a highly recognized qualification/degree.

My swimming trajectory is upward - I made four national finals at the 2024 Australian Age Championships in April 2024, winning 2 National silver medals (800 and 1500 free) and two National 4th places (400 free and 200 fly).

Since then, I have qualified for and swum at the Australian Olympic Trials last week in the 200 fly and 400 free. Please note my ability to pace-  touching last at the 100m but maintaining a consistency with splits, and winning the heat in a time of 4:03.67

I work diligently at school, have received academic awards at school (both awards in academic achievement and application, and in first in extension history and French) and am in AP classes for English, Science and Math. I won the Headmasters Scholar Award at the end of Year 10 for on of only 3 students who had achieved the grade 'A' in all subjects in grade 9 and grade 10 classes.

I train hard - getting up each morning at 4.40am and traveling from my boarding school dormitory to swimming training with the renowned Carlile National squad, coached by Australian Junior Pan Pacs Coach Michaela Pattison. 

Most recently I have gained selection in the New South Wales Futures Squad with development opportunities focused on qualification for the LA Olympics in 2028.  I also look forward to representing my State of NSW in the 2024 Australian Schools Championships in July where I will be competing in the Australian Schools Final for 200 fly, 400 free and 1500 free. .
