I currently live in Tokyo, Japan and swim for Fujimura SS. Since moving to Japan 2 years ago, I found that I have a passion for swimming at a high level that I didn't realize before. As an American, it was challenging to continue to swim after moving across the world, especially after joining a Japanese club team that doesn't speak much English. However, it was during these tough years that I found what I loved doing. In my opinion, you find out who you are when you are faced with obstacles, and I believe that these past few years have been extremely beneficial to my growth as both a swimmer and a person. With my high academic achievements, strong swimming records, and an unparalleled passion for improving myself in everything I do, I believe I can be a strong asset both inside the university classroom and on the college swim team.
