Since I was young, swimming has always been a constant for me. I am a third culture kid who was born in Venezuela and moved at the age of 5 to the other side of the world to Indonesia for 6 years. I lived a whole new life with my family and learned new languages when I wasn't even fluent in my native language. This is why I consider English to be my first language, from the start I was opened up to new and interesting cultures, and right there was where my journey started. My whole life journey has taught me to be an open-minded kid; I am bilingual and have been exposed to so many scenarios since the start of my first international school. Since the age of 3, I took on swimming as a hobby, I tried many sports over the years, but swimming has always been present. I slowly but surely became intrigued with the sport and was always practicing it as a kid. At the age of 14, I took it on competitively 6 days a week, and have been prospering in the sport ever since. Along with my studies in International Schools, I have developed swimming skills to the best of my ability, and I still have much more to give. Years of swimming and life have taught me to be dedicated and focused on the things I want in my studies and sport. With every step I take I repeat to myself my dad’s words which he reminds me of in every swim meet, “No pain no gain”. I have done so much development academically and sports-wise with the help of my family. And I am ready to succeed in college-level swimming by giving it all to my sport and my team.
