Trevor Gowdy '16 Recruiting Profile

Dear Coaches,

I am fiercely loyal, resolute and never give up. My teammates are my best friends. I would not be able to compete at the level I am now and hope to be in the future without their support and friendship. The synergy with my college coaches and teammates is of the utmost importance to me. My college teammates and coaches will be my family for 4 years and beyond.

I would like to major in business and hopefully continue in my family’s longstanding tradition of sports production. My grandfather Curt Gowdy taught me many things the most important were sportsmanship and humility. Being his only grandson places a responsibility on my shoulders I carry proudly everyday.

At the end of February I was the breast leg of the MIAA D1 State championship relay team, which received "All American Consideration" with a time of 1:34.85. My breast split was 26.93 and our time was 39/100 off the meet record. To me the most important aspect of this award was earning it with my teammates and friends.

I was recently elected captain of my high school swim team by my teammates and coaches an honor I will strive to live up to in the classroom, on deck and most importantly in the water.

This Spring at The St John's Prep Junior Convocation Awards Ceremony I was awarded the Swimming Coaches Award for distinguishing myself through athletic performance and contribution to my team this past season. I was honored and humbled by the reckognition.
