Personal Statement
I began swimming competitively at 7yrs old and enjoy pushing myself to improve at every practice and meet while also being a part of a team. I am always challenging myself to meet & exceed goals in both technique and time. During Covid our team had no indoor pool for practice and those of us who were most committed continued to practice through the winter in negative temperatures outdoors. This experience taught me about perseverance and dedication.
I have made many close friends through swimming and had the opportunity to demonstrate my leadership skills on my high school varsity team this year as a key relay member. One of the highlights I am most proud of is Swimming in the IN Speedo Sectionals and making finals in 200 fly as a 15yr old.
My grades are a key priority for me and I am looking for a college experience that will help me grow both academically and as an athlete. It is important for me to find a positive community where I can make contributions and receive feedback that will help me grow as a person. I have not yet decided on a major but my interests include sports medicine and nutrition as well as technology and business.
