Swimming has always been the thing that's kept me focused, grounded, and happy. I want to go to school for mathematics and I hope that taking science classes through the University of Minnesota will allow me to double major in math and physics. I would love to have the opportunity to swim in college as I've found that I am most productive in school during the swim season, and I am most focused at practice during the school year. I've been swimming competitively for close to a decade and during that time I've learned a lot about what it means to be a part of a team; to not only work to improve my own performance but to be there to help encourage and aid those around me. I've also learned the importance of being able to balance swimming and other commitments. This last school year, that meant balancing swimming and a full college course load. This summer, that has meant balancing a job lifeguarding with training for an English Channel relay.
I would be a good candidate for your school because of my ability to push through whatever challenge is lain out in front of me and ensure that everyone around me is able to push through as well.
Thank you for considering me as a possible addition to your team
