Hello, my name is Christopher Skelton and I am a mid-distance swimmer and backstroker for the Honeoye Falls-Lima swim team. I have been on the varsity swim team since 8th grade and I am going into my senior year on the team. I will be a captain next year and I am looking ahead to swimming in college. I am a very competitive member and I intend to continue my swimming progression after High School. I am extremely determined to drop my times as low as possible in all events and to improve my strokes as I go. I swim a 5:10.15 in the 500-yard freestyle and a 0:59.12 in the 100-yard backstroke. I know that I can do even better with those times and I strive to drop my times. My goal for the next few years is to drop my 500 yard-freestyle time to under five minutes and my goal for my 100 yard-backstroke is to drop my time to 0:57 at the very least. Although those two events are my best, I am a very versatile swimmer. I can swim the 100 free, 200 free, 200 IM, and I have been improving on my breaststroke a lot. I am a leader and I am a motivator to the underclassman on my team. I try and teach the younger kids everything that I know so that when I graduate, they can carry on the team traditions and hopefully improve as much as possible. I am always the first person in the pool and I am always the last one out because I just love being in the water. I love being social with my team and I love all of the outside of the pool activities with my team. I balance school and athletics extremely well. I am able to maintain a 3.6 GPA and still be one of the best swimmers on my team. I hope you consider me in the recruitment process!
