Dylan Monaco '22 Recruiting Profile

I started swimming when I was 7 years old and I have never looked back. I have loved it since that first day and knew it was something I wanted to continue pursuing. I started swimming competitively when I was 8 years old and I have to say that is my favorite thing about being on a team. I love the challenges swimming competitively presents to me. As I got older and when I started swimming for my school Varsity team, I  realized my dream is to swim at the collegiate level and that is what I have been working hard to accomplish ever since.   

I consider myself to be an asset to a team while also being very coachable because I am a team player,  a hard worker,  open-minded and I have a strong desire to learn and be the best I can be. As a member of the Lynbrook Varsity team and my club team, I give 100% to both teams and attend practice every day and always work my hardest.  In the summer, in addition to practicing with my club team, I am a full-time beach lifeguard for the Town of Hempstead where I undergo vigorous, challenging workouts daily along with the responsibilty of being a lifeguard and also enjoying some downtime surfing. 

In addition to being a determined athlete, I am also an honor student with a 3.8 GPA and a member of  my school's Wind Ensemble as a percussionist. My course load includes Honors,  AP classes, and a Virtual Enterprise business class . I take pride in my academics and strive to do my best. I look forward to continuing to grow in all of these areas as a student-athlete. My goal is to attend a college where I can continue to challenge myself as a swimmer and also academically as I pursue a career in Physical Education. My goal is to work my hardest academically while having the honor of working equally as hard at swimming as a  member of my college team.
