I am currently a junuor in high school and I have been swimming competitively since I was 8 years old. At first I didn’t want to swim at a high level like in college or even in high school, but I’ve grown to love swimming. I know swimming at a high level is very difficult to get to, and getting there can change my life.
I have an excellent kick in the water and I’m a great backstroker. I am one of the leaders on my team and try to make sure all my teammates have fun. I learn very quickly, and help the coaches and my teammates in practice. I strive to be the best and fastest in the water at all times And love to race others to get better.
I work hard year round to get techniques down, to get a stronger pull and a stronger kick. This is my 8th year swimming for my local YMCA swim team, I’ve also swam for my school’s varsity team for 3 years. I have also started working out at our local gym to strengthen muscle that contributes to swimming.
In class I study hard and pay attention in class to maintain a high GPA. I am in advanced math and science for my grade level. I do my best to stay on task in school and manage my time with swimming, school and my personal life.
I want to attend college so I can push myself in swimming and take classes that I feel are right for me. I hope that college can take me to a higher level of competition and intellect. I wish to be a great role model for younger kids and to make my parents proud.
