Personal Statement

I have been swimming since I was 5 years old.  As I noticed how much I loved swimming, I have aimed to become a collegiate swimmer.  I know that competing in a college is a privilege that not everyone has the opportunity to do, but I would be so thankful for an opportunity.

I am very dedicated to swimming, and I put all my free time and effort into the sport.  I practice 5 hours a day, 2 hours in the morning from 6:30am to 8:30am for high school, and to be on time for my club team, I drive an hour straight from school for a 3 hour practice, 4:00pm-7:00pm.  I specialize in freestyle and middle distance races.  I like the mentality and strategy needed for these races.  During my freshman and sophomore years, I made 1st and 2nd team all-state in the 200 freestyle, 500 freestyle and the 400 freestyle relay.  Being able to drop time and win races is what motivates me to work even harder to become a better swimmer.

I work hard to maintain a good GPA while still working hard in each and every practice.  I take a mix of AP classes and dual credit classes.  I am also in an engineering course due to my love of math and building things.  I am on track to have a large depth of knowledge in the engineering field and my associates degree by the time I graduate high school.  When I am not at practice, I am most likely with my family or volunteering at a swim meet.  Volunteering at swim meets is fun because I can still be around the pool while being able to relax my body and mind on rest days.

My goal is to attend a college where I can further my knowledge of engineering.  I would also like to be part of a friendly and hardworking community who pushes each other to be a better person and swimmer each day.  I hope to become a positive role model for the people around me and make my family and hometown proud.

NCSA COLLEGE RECRUITING®

NCSA College Recruiting® (NCSA) is the nation’s leading collegiate recruiting source for more than 500,000 student-athletes and 42,000 college coaches. By taking advantage of this extensive network, more than 92 percent of NCSA verified athletes play at the college level. The network is available to high school student-athletes around the country through valued relationships with the NFLPA, FBU, NFCA and SPIRE. Each year, NCSA educates over 4 million athletes and their parents about the recruiting process through resources on its website, presentations of the critically-acclaimed seminar College Recruiting Simplified, and with Athletes Wanted, the book written by NCSA founder Chris Krause.
