Personal Statement
“MOST LIKELY TO DROWN”
Hi, my name is Ryan Fojtik. I am an upcoming senior this year. I started swimming when I was seven years old in summer league. I originally was voted "most likely to drown" by my first swim coach, but I quickly grew to love the sport. I came to like it so much that I switched to a year round club team. Then I decided that I wanted to swim for a high school team, but my school didn't have one, so I was able to transfer to a one that did, 30 minutes away. I now swim for both my High School team in the morning and my club team in the afternoon, and still love swimming. I have competed at the UIL state championships in Texas for my first three years of high school, and I hope to return again as a senior.
I have always taken schoolwork seriously, and have maintained a 3.95 GPA throughout my High School years. My favorite studies have always been English classes, and I am interested in earning a Library Sciences Degree.
I think I would be a good candidate for a spot on a college team because I have a history of dedication to my sport with having to get up earlier than my other teammates to drive to swim and school. I have also shown that I am able to juggle multiple things, by keeping up high grades in school, while also swimming for four hours a day.
Well, I didn’t drown, so maybe I’m worth considering for your swim program.
