Personal Statement
I am pleased to say that I have accepted the opportunity to study and swim at Carnegie Mellon University.
My aspirations to swim at the collegiate level began as a child. My mentors in the pool were the older swimmers who I respected and admired. Many of them went on to successful college swimming careers and I knew that if I worked hard, I could be there to. It is now my turn to mentor the younger swimmers in our club swimming group and I am while pursuing my degree. I train 8 times a week in a competitive environment while maintaining high academic standards. I find that the pressure of balancing a rigorous course schedule and my training in the pool has helped equip me for the challenges of being a collegiate student athlete.
