Karthikeya Gannavarapu '24 Recruiting Profile

Hello, my name is Karthikeya Gannavarapu, and I’m a 5’8” tennis player from Dublin, CA. I come from Dublin High school. Since, I was 8 years old, I have been playing tennis. And I knew that I would want to play at the collegiate level. 

Currently, I compete in the top USTA tournaments, including Clay Court Championships and Winter Nationals. I have a UTR of 10.27 and a 4-star on tennis recruiting. And I’m on my high school varsity team since my sophomore year. On the court, I am always extremely hardworking and energetic. I enjoy the individuality in the sport and always strive to improve. 

Coming to academics, I continue to work hard and maintain a high GPA. Currently, I maintain a 4.05 cumulative GPA and all As in challenging AP courses. I’m passionate about computer science and astronomy. And I always look to take advantage and immerse myself in all the opportunities my school has to offer. To name a couple things I do/have done: lead position in a computer science club, competing in USA computing olympiad, computer science bootcamp at Berkeley University, member in an astronomy club, and working on an astronomy research project. 

Ideally, I would like to be at larger sized schools with a great on-campus atmosphere and town/city location. Preferably, I lean towards schools in the state, but I’m also open to schools in all locations. I hope to find the right college where I can continue to compete in a competitive atmosphere, but also further my academic career.
