Hi my name is Ryan Freeman and I am a senior at IMG Bollettieri Tennis Academy in Bradenton, Florida. I am a lefty and I have a passion for tennis. This year I have a rigorous schedule of intense tennis training and strong academics. I am on the courts at 7:00 am every morning and able to train with great coaches for several hours each day. I am taking AP Calculus, Anatomy and Physiology, Psychology, and Advanced Composition in the afternoon and I am learning life skills on how to balance academics and athletics. I am staying strong and preparing for college.
I grew up on the island of Guam where I trained in tennis and soccer, learned to scuba dive and sail, and earned the rank of Eagle Scout. I attended boarding school my junior year at Brewster Academy in Wolfeboro, New Hampshire. It was a major change for me, but I adjusted well and had a great year. I played varsity soccer in the fall, trained in the winter, and played #1 singles and doubles on the Brewster Tennis Team in the spring. I learned great study skills while at Brewster, but wasn't able to get the intense tennis training and competition that I desired which is why I applied to IMG Academy for my senior year of high school.
I am very enthusiastic about tennis and I constantly strive to increase my skills. I have attended the IMG Bollettieri tennis camps several times in the past few years, however spending my senior year at IMG Academy has enabled me to improve my tournament skills. My goal this year is to find a college with a great tennis coach and tennis team where I can play tennis and apply my study skills to get a great education in the medical field. Thank you for viewing my profile. Please feel free to contact me and let me know what you think of my video.
