Hi my name is Christian Tihanovich and I’ve been playing tennis since 2nd grade. I tried other sports before tennis but I didn’t feel like they were right for me. After my family moved from Columbus, Ohio to Tampa, Florida it was quickly evident that I developed a passion and love for the sport. When I first stepped onto a tennis court, I had a feeling like I was meant to play tennis. Living in Florida provided the perfect elements to train year round. I started practicing more, getting lessons, progressing really well and loving every minute I was on the court. Playing my first tournament was where I realized that playing competitively is something I want to do. As my love for the game evolved so did my dedication to my training. Going to school followed by three hours of training five days a week, conditioning on my off days and private lessons is demanding but worth every minute.
What I think makes me stand out is my speed, a strong first serve, mental toughness and my ability to adjust to my opponents style. I have a lot more to learn and I am very coachable. I practice good sportsmanship on the court, but make no mistake, I want to win every time I go out on the court. I take academics very serious because I want to have a great career someday where I can compete at my job like I do tennis on the court.
I would not be at the point I’m at right now without the support from my coaches, family and friends. I would love the opportunity to play college tennis, compete and support my team. Thanks to all of the coaches who took the time to look at my profile.
