Since I was six years old, when I first grasped a racket and its handle fit snugly in my small, determined grip, tennis has been the compass that has guided my life. Tennis has moulded my character, perseverance, and determination—from those early, light-hearted volleys with my family to the fierce competitiveness of my most recent ITF events.

I started playing tennis competitively when I was 11 years old, making my way through the exciting landscape of local competitions and eventually working my way through the sport's intricacies. My love for the game never wavered in the face of difficulties, which helped me reach new heights and get ready for the tough world of collegiate tennis.

I am excited to combine my academic interests with my love of tennis at a respected college that is well-known for both its strong academic reputation and tennis programme, having graduated this past March. My goal is to provide my abilities and perseverance to a college team that emphasises academic hard work and physical skill, creating a whole environment for development and success.

I took advantage of a life-changing five-month intensive training in April this year (immediately after my high school final exam), which strengthened my abilities and raised my UTR ranking from 7.44 to 8.06. My technique improved and my mental toughness strengthened as a result of the training schedule and competitive environment, which equipped me to defeat opponents ranked far higher. Particularly, my recent triumph over a player with an astounding ITF rating of 638 and a UTR of 8.5 is evidence of my commitment and fortitude on the court.

Even though the pandemic presented difficulties and caused me to take a two-year break from playing tennis in 2020 and 2021, I never wavered in my dedication to the game. I continued to hone my abilities during this time by doing extensive training and preparation, looking forward to the day when I could prove my abilities on the competitive arena once more.

My seven ITF events, from where I started with no ranking to where I am now at 1405, represent my unrelenting commitment to growth and improvement in the world of competitive tennis. Every game, every loss, every victory has given me the resilience, flexibility, and tenacity I need to succeed on and off the court.

In the future, I hope to combine my love of tennis with my academic goals at the university level, creating a culture of success, friendship, and excellence. My ultimate objective is to help the collegiate tennis team succeed while also using the priceless lessons I've gained from the sport to succeed academically and positively influence the college community and beyond.
