I consider myself to be a very strong student. I have a 3.8 GPA. I additionally recently took the SAT in May, scoring a 1290 (620 English, 670 Math). Attached to this email you will find documents confirming these statements. My academic interests mainly lie in the fields of Finance and Kinesiology. Some of my major athletic achievements so far include,
2023 ROPSSAA Finalist (regional highschool tournament, qualifier for OFSAA)
2024 OFSAA Quarter Finalist (provincial highschool tournament)
2023-2024 season Port Credit S.S. Tennis M.V.P.
3.5 star U16 Super Series doubles champion
I have been playing tennis since I was five and have been competing in OTA (Ontario Tennis Association) events since I was eleven years old and I've played a few ITF these past few years.
My weapons as a player are my forehand and serve. I like to play north, utilizing my serve and a good first strike to approach the net and finish the point. Furthermore, a big part of my game now is my serve and volley. I find myself winning a lot of free points and I often get positive comments from other coaches on its effectiveness.
When the circumstances dictate it, I can stay in long rallies with older and stronger players. One thing I am especially proud of is my endurance (both mental and physical) and my ability to fight and pull out matches even when the odds are against me.
One of the things I am most proud of, and one of my biggest accomplishments so far is making the quarterfinals of OFSAA coming off a broken bone in my hand. OFSAA is the provincial high school tournament for my province, Ontario. This injury caused me to have surgery and lended me unable to play tennis for 3 months. The turn around led to me having about 2-3 weeks to train for this big event and get back to where I was.
Over the past six months I have been working heavily on my doubles game, winning a 3.5 star U16 Super Series, playing weekly in the ORC Men's doubles league with many former D1 and National Champion players and recently playing intercountry majors for ORC being selected to play open 1 (Line 1).
In my spare time, I volunteer as a hitting partner to support Canadian Wheelchair Tennis and am currently working closely with Anne-Marie Dolinar (Currently ranked as #1 Female Wheelchair Tennis Player in Canada) - here is a short (43s) video testimonial from Anne-Marie
