I got introduced to tennis when I was 8 years old. We came to Lagos, Nigeria from India and the sight of the beautiful tennis court right there in my apartment complex made me want to play the game! My father noticed a natural flair in me when I started hitting the tennis ball and immediately started professional training to hone my skills. I am now all of 16, but I must say that without the lessons I take back from this game, I wouldn’t be what I am today. Tennis has made me someone who rises up to challenges when needed the most. I focus on my game and do what it takes to try and win every point but at the same enjoy the game. I was a bit on the heavier side but thanks to tennis, I have reduced a lot and much more fitter now with some more ground to cover. I have been training a minimum of 8-10 hours weekly both on my fitness as well on my tennis skills with the focused intention to play competitive tennis in college. On academics, I have been consistently a high honors student in my middle school as well as high school till date. I will be pursuing IB diploma in my HS junior and senior years and opting for Math, Physics and Chemistry as my HL subjects. I wish to major in Mechanical engineering in college as I have a passion for machines and deeply interested specifically in robotics.
