Jovanni Wagner-Payne '17 Recruiting Profile

My goals in college are to do things that not many people in my family got to do which is go to college and have a great career coming out of college. I am a good candidate for college teams because I'm a team player. I don't just play for myself. I'm not trying to go to college and play 1 singles and be captain I'm just trying to continue to play the sport I love at a higher level and if it is at a high position on the team that is great but for now I'm just trying to play at that level no matter what it takes. I'm different from other players because not only do I play whenever I can but I do all my school work and study for tests. I am an athlete outside of school and a 3.5 GPA student inside school. I also never give up when playing the game of tennis. If I am down in a match I never put my head down I'm always trying my best, hustling and putting my heart into every single play and that's why people don't like to play against me because right when they think they won the point I hustle and get to it and score and players do not like that when they are not on your team.
