I know academics are the most important part of my college career. However, I've always played sports and want to continue to do so. Tennis is the only varsity HS sport I've played, but I also play soccer, basketball, golf and flag football. I think exercise, competition and being outside are important to health. I also have ADHD and playing sports and music helps me with my studies.
I love being coached. Getting better by practicing big and little things every day gives me a sense of accomplishment even more than winning a match. But winning a match is fun too.
I go to a very large high school of over 3,300 students which is more than many of the colleges I'm looking at. The varsity team here is very competitive, but not very team oriented. My mom and my off season coaches all played college athletics and talk about what a great team experience it was. I would really like to experience that and have that part of my college memories.
