I want to be the best player, teammate, and person that I can become. I have only played tennis for a couple years, but I can not see myself without it anymore. Every time I go out to the courts or to the gym I want to better myself and my game. I know that I have a lot of developmental time to make up, but I feel that I have been making steady progress and I think that I am developing exponentially. And I am committed to making this a reality.
On court and off the court I push myself and my teammates to work hard in order to improve and develop technically and physically. I understand the importance of not only on court drills, but also the odd court training including weightlifting, conditioning, and injury prevention — all of which I include in my own training right now.
Not only do I push myself on the court, I also push myself in the classroom. I have found balance between my tennis and academics to where I am able to train and improve my tennis skills while also staying strong in the classroom. I want to continue to be a good student-athlete and explore the opportunities that aerospace or computer engineering can bring.
Although my UTR and USTA ranks are not the highest, I believe that I am improving exponentially and can’t wait to see the level I will be at in a few years. I am committed to the sport and am continuing to put all my effort into every tournament, match, game, drill, and ball.
