I have had the good fortune of coming from a large family that has been filled with love and support. I have four other siblings, all of whom are into athletics and sports. I have also had the good fortune of having two parents support me in all aspects of my life. They have been the greatest influence in my life in school, sport, and personal growth. My father introduced me to tennis when I was nine years old. I immediately took to the sport and became involved in local tennis clubs. At this time I was also playing other sports, including soccer, lacrosse, and basketball. I would later take up track & field & cross country and was able to compete in two New Balance Nationals in Track & Field in 8th grade!
School is very important to me and I try to balance with my sports and family time. My GPA is a 3.7 and it is my goal to stay above at or above a 93 for my senior year. My academic strengths are in the sciences and it is my plan to study Health Science in college.
One of the things I have learned about tennis is that it is a microcosm of life. There are plenty of ups and downs but it is always important to reflect and to see how you can improve whether you are up or down. After each match I try to process, analyze, and determine best outcome in moving forward.
Character traits are what determine success and I would like to think that some of my traits are hard work, determination, and patience. I try to lead by example as my parents taught me and I am a champion of the underdog. I have recognized that drive, determination, and patience are the keys to success. I am looking forward to my journey in college and am committed to the process of learning and growing in both school and sport!
