I have loved tennis since I started playing the game when I was five years old. I watched countless tennis tournaments with my mom and dad, and I enjoyed going to the US Open with my mom at Forest Hills. I idolized Federer, and really enjoyed watching Nadal and Djokovic.
I am not a nationally ranked player, but my heart and my commitment are at the highest level and I always to put forth my best possible effort. When I was 11 a family tragedy took precedence in my life, and I wasn’t able to play for a couple of years regularly. I came back to tennis as soon as I could, and I have been playing again since freshman year high school.
I am a very hard worker. I never quit. I am highly coachable, and I have a great degree of respect for my coach and team members.
I am a good student. I really enjoy science and English. I founded and run an online student humor magazine, and I am a member of the Key Club (student ambassador.) I am also a volunteer with Sanctuary for Families, where I am interning this summer and a volunteer with Ipads for Soldiers.
I want to attend a college with I can excel with my academics and play competitive tennis at the highest level possible. My younger brother is 10 years old, and I want to be able to show him what working hard and always making your best effort can achieve.
