Growing up I’ve always been a competitor. I always been a sports kid and have truly cherished athletics throughout my life. I never really considered individual sports at a young age so I stuck to the more common sports of football and basketball. My Coaches could tell that my athletic ability was there but my understanding and skills for the game weren’t always there. I had always been recommended to do Track and Field especially through my days of playing football. I was always told about how fast I was or how high I could jump. Freshman year in high school I ended up making the best decision in my life in trying out for track. I wasn’t the best at first, or even close at being there. But I was determined to improve my athletic ability to reach those goals. I have always set small goals and when I achieved those I was able to move my way up. Taking part of track and field has been the best thing that’s ever happened to me, it has taught me discipline, patience, hard work, and success. Once I knew that track could be an option for me in the future, I knew that I had to put 110% into it. What makes me different from other athletes in the sport is that no other athlete will work as hard as I do. I have put blood sweat and tears into this and I won’t stop. In terms of academics I have always been a top student in my classes. I have taken one AP class Sophomore year and a college class Junior year. I take my education very seriously and I make sure I get my job done. If any team is looking at me and considering to have me on their team, my message to them is that I get the job done at the best of my ability with 110% work ethic. My future goals as a track and field athlete are to exceed expectations in high school, and go far in CIF, and eventually excel in college . I’m excited for what the future holds for me!
