In middle school my PE teacher said I should try out for track in high school. My freshman year I tried hurdles and fell in love. I was fortunate to run Varsity as a sophomore and win Sea View League Champion for 110 High Hurdles and was completely shocked that my team awarded me Mens Varsity 2016 Most Valuable Athlete. I was awarded Track Athlete Of The Year in 2017.
Being a team player, I enjoyed volunteering to help during practices and meets always being one of the first to set up the hurdles and the last to leave. My desire to learn and improve makes the technique involved with running hurdles the perfect challenge.
In school I taken both advanced and AP courses and I strive to maintain a good GPA. I enjoy participating in class discussions and work well both independently and in groups.
I want to attend a college where I can both succeed in the classroom and compete on the track. Finding a team that I can connect with and a coach that believes in me is important. I hope to make a positive impact wherever I go.
