ActivitiesThroughout my four years of high school I have made it my mission to bring value to my surrounding communities. I have been involved in various outreach programs targeted towards minority groups and the poor. Two programs specifically had the most influence on my life choices and my complete outlook on life. Since January 2020 I have been strongly connected with Dharma Bum Temple near Downtown.The temple teaches the importance of kindness, compassion and service to the community. They provide an accepting and tolerant space where people from all races, gender identities, sexual orientations, abilities can come together and share space. Every Thursday night the leader of the temple ahd set up a program that prepares and hands out sandwiches to the poor. We would gather weekly to prepare dinner and serve the homeless people on the streets of downtown San Diego. This experience taught me the importance of practicing generosity which is a vital skill for human connection. The second most memorable program I have been involved in is the USA Rockets Track & Field Youth Club. There I was posited as the youth coach. I coached youth kids and gave them knowledge and mentorship on how to take their talents to the next level. Being that I am a high level track athlete, I was highly qualified for the position. The USA Rockets Track Clubs mission is to stimulate, motivate, and broaden the interest of youth athletes. In this organization I played a key role in the leadership and guidance of youth athletes. All these experiences have allowed me to spread positivity throughout my community.
