Personal Statement
Running has helped me develop my mind, body and soul. As a competitive Cross Country and Track Athlete since the age of 10, I have learned the importance of setting goals and keeping my mind focussed on performing my best. I am eager to follow in my father's foot steps and compete in college to further advance my running skills and potential as well as fulfill a dream to be a n elite collegiate athlete. I feel like I have a great deal of running potential and believe that I am not even close to what I am capable of doing on the track or on the course.
I am a solid leader and enjoy motivating my peers to do their best. You will not find an athlete that will work harder than I do to be your best runner. I am super humble despite my running success and eager to be part of a solid team. I am different because I have had multiple set backs during High School that would have caused most young people to give up, however, due to my desire to run fast I continue to come back stronger each time something has come my way. Several setbacks I have successfully overcome include health issues as well as a change in school which resulted in ineligibility for one season of track and one season of Cross County. I have a strong work ethic and my commitment to perform well is solid. My academics are strong and I am motivated to continue to pursue my athletic career.
