The race in the rhythm of my life has become a constant beat that propels me forward. As a junior, a student athlete in cross-country and track and field, I find comfort in kicking my legs on the trails—a passion that began when I was a kid, around second grade. To repeat the words of the legendary Steve Prefontaine, "To give anything less than the best is to sacrifice the gift." I embraced this philosophy every step of the way, every stride, every step.
Running is more than just a sport for me; It’s a lifelong love affair. From the first days of lacing up my shoes, I discovered the joy of pushing my limits and the unique satisfaction of pursuing personal bests. This passion has been a compass to guide me through the challenges of running and the successes of personal development.
As a varsity athlete, I’ve learned that true success extends beyond individual achievement—it’s about teamwork and fostering a friendly spirit. These values resonate off the screen and through my role as class president with ease. Effective communication is central to both activities, whether it is engaging teammates in a common goal or ensuring that each student’s voice is heard and valued.
Music is another thread woven into the fabric of my life. Not only am I a runner and class president but I am also a proud orchestra and band member, where I express my creativity through the rhythms of the French horn. This dual expression of sport and art reflects the multifaceted nature of my character and shows that desire knows no bounds.
In college, I have the desire to study political science and I believe my rigorous high school course load will prepare me for both college academics and athletics in my future.
