John Chaides '15 Recruiting Profile

I have been hooked on pole vaulting since watching my older brother vault in high school. I have been pole vaulting since seventh grade.

I like to think I am a well-rounded person as I am involved in several other activities. I have been a Boy Scout since 2008 and am pending my final interview before achieving the highest rank of Eagle Scout. In high school I am in the fourth year of a Project Lead the Way Program, an Engineering and Design Pathway. I am in my fourth year of student government and am currently a cabinet member of our United Student Body government. I am on the executive board of Renaissance, a leadership group to promote academic success for the entire school. I am the co-founder and vice president of the Impact Club, which serves to physically enhance our school environment. And last, I do freelance photography at school events and contribute photos to the school yearbook, newspaper, Renaissance, and athletics.

My goals are to attend college, study civil engineering, and compete at a higher level as a college athlete in pole vaulting.
