With a background in baseball, soccer, basketball, volleyball, and cross country, it took only a small taste of Track & Field and hurdles for me to decide that it was running that I wanted to devote all my time to. Even though I have Varsity letters in both Cross-Country and Track & Field, for my Junior year, in consultation with my coaches, I decided to focus exclusively on Track & Field with my entire off-season dedicated to Strength & Conditioning. I am doing that again for my Senior year where I will be training with my specific events in mind and with the goal of getting faster and more explosive.
What has driven me the most on my journey so far is my competitive mindset and my high personal standards, two things that extend well beyond athletics. I always strive to be the best student that I can be, something that I hope my GPA and academic accomplishments reflect, as well as the best person I can be. In addition to me having high expectations of myself, my coaches describe me as dedicated, hard-working, and coachable. My determination and ability to work in teams will make me a valuable asset to any collegiate Track and Field program. While running track in college, I plan on pursuing a Mechanical Engineering degree and am looking for a school with excellent programs in both academics and athletics.
