Hello,My name is Freddy Martinez, A Senior at Perris High School. I run Cross Country and Track for my school.I started sophomore year during track season with the feeling of wanting to be active and try something new.I unfortunately didn't take my sophomore year in track as serious.I believe I could've done better if I showed up more and tried harder but I learned from my mistakes and took on my first year of Cross Country in my Junior Year.
It was my first year doing Cross Country, I was learning and adapting to it and I believe I got decent times, but maybe not as fast times as most juniors should get but I was committed to my sport and showed up a lot. I really enjoyed Junior year in Cross Country it was amazing and fun.I also had a great season in Track as a junior,i really enjoyed it,every second of it.I pr'd a lot compared to my sophomore times and i had a goal to break my school's 800 meter record, which stands at 1:56,and in League finals I ran my hardest and got a 1:57,I was really proud of myself for that and I had a chance at CIF to break it but I got out to fast and came in with a slower 2nd lap where I finished with 1:57 again.I was kinda sad about that but then I looked back on how far I came for that time and how close I was to the record and I wasn't going to give up,I still have senior year for it and I will try even harder to run faster earlier in the season and take the 800 record, and to get a faster mile and two mile times during the season as well.
As I'm re-writing this during the off season before my last and third high school season of track. My senior year of cross country didn't go as expected.Pr'd by a little but not the goal I set for myself.Later crushed in the middle of the season due to a thigh pain that left me injured.Pain I never felt before, left me to go a couple of days off school due to not being able to walk.I tried to return to practice and continue running but the pain held me back and I didn't want to feel useless and wanted to keep trying but at the end I coped with the idea of a time off to recover.I came back towards league finals and didn't get my normal times and place and samething happened in CIF but it happened and I can't do much about it and have to learn from what happened.
So this upcoming track season,if all goes as planned,I'm going to redeem myself and try my hardest to reach my goals.I have high hopes for this 2016 season of Track and I want to give it my all to represent my school, help my team mates and to reach my goals this year.I just want to do my best at being a runner and a person to my family and friends,Idream to once inspire like many inspired me,I dream of reaching the highest limits of what i put my mind into while helping others do the same,I like to put my all and my heart into the things i love.Anything is possible when you put your heart into it,because then it becomes alive.
