Hello, My name is Maxwell Jefferson and I am of 17 years of Age and attend Poway High School in Poway, California. I compete in the 110m Hurdles, 300m Hurdles, and occasionally the 4x100 and 4x400 Relays. I believe that I can be useful to many teams because I am continuing to grow with every week and every season. My first two years of High School, my coach didn't know much about hurdles as he has never competed in hurdles before. He knew just about as much as the throws coach did. My first two years I was able to follow in the footsteps of my upper classmen who now runs D2 hurdles. He taught me everything he could and I learned a lot from him. But after he left along with my coach that same year, I was on my own my Junior year with a coach that was there twice a week and didn't know much about the event and I still continued to grow every week. I believe my potential is only growing and I believe that with college coaches, I can become a great asset to any team. I am a quick learner and very versatile and athletic. I am also a very good leader as my junior year, as short as it was due to corona, the underclassmen and rest of the juniors really looked up to me. As well as some of the seniors at the time. My senior year is going to be a statement year for me, with my personal goals of breaking my school record of 14.8, and qualifying and competing well at the California State Finals. I'm only going up from here.
