My college aspirations involve majoring in business, namely finance, as I became curious about math during my sophomore year. Integrated III incorporated many charts, graphs, and tables, and I found that this component of math was most interesting to me - I therefore started to look more into this area, and discovered that my passion truly lies with business, mainly in the finance realm. Once I started to become more intrigued in business and finance, I started to watch videos about entrepreneurship and looked into additional opportunities. Fortunately, my school offers an introduction to finance course, and although I have met all of my math requirements, I have enrolled in this class at the start of my senior year. I hope I am able to learn about how financing can really help new businesses and business owners in general. I am passionate about helping others, so I am confident this finance course will help me understand how to support entrepreneurs in finding opportunities to grow their business. I am excited to explore the world of finance and take my interest to the next level on campus.
I am different from other recruits because I am a leader, a role model for my team, and I am able to lift spirits. I firmly believe that when people are optimistic, they tend to have more energy and are more confident, and they are able to set higher expectations. All of my life, I have been a very positive person and do not let negativity or outside influences get me down. I strive to make every day better than the last. I am often faced with adversity when my peers have a negative attitude, or when I do not meet my track goals, but as my coach says, I always manage to have a smile on my face. On the team, I take initiative by working harder during practices, and set goals for myself by running on days I did not have team practice. I also show up to practices early, prepared, and with a positive attitude. Because I am a leader, my teammates follow in my footsteps and I am able to motivate them which greatly impacts our team as a whole. Each member of my track team comes to practice with great energy and a bright outlook, and as a result, our team morale and camaraderie is extremely strong. Taking on responsibilities to better others allowed me to grow as an individual, helping me become more open to challenges that will benefit me long term, and less tunnel visioned on temporary satisfaction. This mentality applies to my schoolwork, as I have found that if I apply myself in school, I have greater success. Contributing more time and effort into my school assignments, leading to a better learning experience, has positively impacted my grades as a whole. To summarize, I am a strong candidate because I am a hard worker in all aspects of my life: academics, work, and extracurriculars.
