Unlike many of my peers going onto college my long term career goals have not been solidified. I have found that I greatly enjoy history, politics, law, and even medicine. I have also found that I truly enjoy competitive long distance running and am developing an increasing aptitude as a runner. My short term goals in college are to continue to expand my horizons and acquire a liberal arts education. In college I strongly desire to continue my trajectory as a competitive cross country and distance track runner. I have a true passion for the sport and am very excited that under the influence of outstanding collegiate coaching my talent and strength will grow substantially. I am anxious to be a part of a close knit cross-country and track team where I will find camaraderie with other ambitious young men and women who share my passion for the sport and for academic and athletic excellence. Through my experiences as a Boy Scout and Eagle Scout I believe that I will not only serve as an outstanding team member but hope to also apply my experiences and skills as a team leader. My athletic goals for this year are to push my 5K time below 16 minutes, qualify for the State Meet, and push my 1600 time below 4:25. I am tremendously excited to begin this next phase of my academic and athletic education. I have every confidence that I will add greatly to the team I join as a disciplined student of my coaches, as an absolutely reliable team member, and as a motivated and inspiring team leader.
