Hello, my name is Alexander Dueck, and I am currently a senior at Santa Teresa High School in San Jose, California. As a first-year varsity sprinter, I have embraced the challenges of what the sport has to offer as well as competing at a high level whether it is in practice or a race. My goal is to continue this new sport and journey to a higher level and I am hoping to compete at a collegiate level where I can develop both as a student and athlete. What sets me apart from other recruits is my work ethic and dedication towards both academics and athletics. Both those two topics have been extremely important growing up and will continue to be as I go to college. I strongly believe that success isn‘t just on race day, but I view success as giving every rep the best I can whether its on the track or in the weight room, and I am committed to becoming the best version of myself in this sport. Beyond my dedication to track, I take pride in being a good teammate and despite what may happen, I always look for the positives and being a good person towards others. Track may be an individual sport in competition, but what I learned in just a short amount of time running is, the strength of a team and the value of being a good teammate plays a crucial role in personal and collective success. Academically, I am just as ambitious as I am on the track. I hold myself to high standards and take pride to manage school with athletics. I am looking for a program where I can thrive academically as a Criminal Justice Major as well as athletically as a Track and Field Athlete. I am very excited for the possibility to compete at the next level and contributing to a program that values hard work and dedication where I can grow and make an impact.
