I started track my Freshman year of high school after I tried to play football. I wasn't that good at it and ended up running track to mainly lose weight and had no plans of track in my future. I wasn't good at all my freshman year, running everything from the 100 all the way up to the 800 as coaches tried to find a good event for me. I ran a 1:03 in the 400m and a 2:43 in the 800m. Yikes. But i didn't let these times discourage me and I continued through the season. As the season progressed I ended up enjoying track, so I did what my coach ask and did XC. XC was a very tough sport for me but I toughed through it and it definitely paid off. That indoor season after XC I dropped my 800m to a 2:12 and my 400m to a 56. Not great but I improved and that was all i worried about. I continued training and that outdoor season I improved dramatically. I dropped my 400m to a 52.93 at the County meet and split a 2:07 at the same meet. This gave me hope and I figured i could go somewhere with track so I decided to make a great decision. Run AAU track. I ran for Delaware Elite Track Club and continued to improve. I dropped my 800m time to a 2:01.24 and was able to split 51.4 in the 400m at the AAU Junior Olympics Games. So now I am at the indoor season after the summer and even though I am yet to set a personal record in the 400m and 800m I was able to in the 200m and I am running well and plan on running considerably better in outdoor.
