Jalen Dickerson '23 Recruiting Profile

My name is Jalen Dickerson, I grew up in Orlando Florida and my biggest passion is running track. I started running track my junior year of high school and have already exceeded my goal to run my fastest time. The adrenaline, my family, and victory have always kept me going. Throughout high school, I have strived to do my best no matter what. When I started track, my hopes to excel quickly weren't high but I knew with my heart for the sport, I would get where I wanted in time. It wasn't until this year that I began to analyze my times and realize that I could run in college. After high school, my goal is to run track in college, and hope to become a professional runner. Another big passion of mine is caring for others, which led me to want to major in sports medicine. I always knew something about my heart made me stand out from others on the track, and it was exactly that, my heart. With no doubt, I was always willing to study and practice all the time to get myself to where I wanted to be. Throughout my journey, my biggest supporters have been my parents, who ran track when they were younger as well. Although my heart is with track, my academics have always come first. I have a GPA of 3.3 and am continuously working to better my SAT scores. I still have so much to learn, but I love learning new things and can't wait to see where my future in track takes me.
