My name is Anderson Albury I am a junior elite triathlete, track, cross-country runner, and newly made pole vaulter. I've only been pole vaulting for 6 months but its a sport I am very focused on and am interested in competing in it at college. I I am a hard-working and determined student-athlete who is willing and committed to doing whatever it takes to get to the places I want to be. In my freshman year of high school, I qualified for the XC regional championship as a solo runner, as well as the 2021 Triathlon Sprint Distance World Championship in Bermuda.
One quote I have always lived by is “When you learn to see your struggles as opportunities to become stronger, better, wiser, then your thinking shifts from 'I can't do this to 'I must do this.”- Toni Sorenson.
I try to live my life according to this quote. I feel that I am a leader on and off the track. I demonstrate integrity, honor and respect knowing that the way I carry myself reflects on my team, my coaches and the school I attend. I take pride in being able to be a leader and help my fellow teammates in anyway I can. My goal is to become a professional athlete and will do anything it takes to reach that goal. One thing that I pride myself on is when I say I'm going to do something or I set a goal I intend to not only reach that goal but push past it no matter how hard it get. If I encounter a setback I see it as a, "success in the making." I take my academics very seriously and put my best foot forward. One of my Interests is to Study Sports Marketing and Business.
I am highly interested in any schools that challenge me and motivate my interests. I am looking forward to attending a school with a very strong and competitive athletic program that fits me. Running and Triathlon has been my life for the past 12 years and now with the addition of pole vaulting. Hopefully, I will have the chance to continue to chase my goal of competing on the biggest stage.
